The service of Holy Communion

We here at GSCC believe that communion is a sacrament. (This word means a sacred act.) It is sacred because Jesus instituted it. We beleive in the real presence of Christ during communion. Real presence means that Jesus is present in, with, and under the bread and wine. (We use grape juice here at GSCC because not everyone drinks wine.) Jesus is present because even though Jesus ascended to heaven, as the Son of God Jesus is present everywhere at all times. Before we take communion we should examine our life and, in prayer, confess any of our sins to God. This can be done right before you take communion with us. When we take communion it reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
